The impact of the Iberoamerican communication style on German art and design
Melisa Palacio López is B.Sc in Physics Engineering of the National University of Colombia and M.F.A. in Media Art and Design at the Bauhaus-Universität, Weimar, Germany. She has made simultaneously her studies on Plastic Arts and Contemporary Dance making and giving workshops and courses in Colombia, USA and Europe. She investigates on scientific topics to communicate science through art and multimedia design. She has worked in the last years making visual design for fulldome productions for Sony Music and other clients. Currently she developes visual concepts in a communication agency in Berlin and makes workshops and performances mixing body language and digital media.
Maria Claudia Borrero

Maria Claudia Borrero is originally from Colombia. In Colombia she studied a Bachelor in Civil Engineering and worked in the Oil and Gas sector. Parallel to her career, she was part of the theatre group of the University and later she studied 4 years Latin rhythms in the academy Paso Latino in Colombia. In 2015 she obtained the DAAD scholarship “Development-Related Postgraduate Courses” to study in Germany. In 2017 she graduated from the Bauhaus University in Weimar as M.Sc. in Natural Hazards and Risks in Structural Engineering. Currently she works as Structural Engineer for the company SGHG Planungs- & Prüfgesellschaft Bautechnik mbH in Jena. She has been working as volunteer in Iberoamerica Jena e.V. since 2016 mainly as part of the dance group.

Smells like home -international affairs in research and innovation
Sofia is BSc. and PhD in Biology from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has worked in several research institutes along the globe. She lived in Argentina, Israel, Chile and Germany. In 2007 she got a post doctoral position at the Max Planck Institute for chemical Ecology in Jena, where today she leads a group researching on Drosophila neurogenetics, studying how flies detect odors. She enjoys nature, poetry, yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
Lorena Tuchscherr de Hauschopp
Scientific Researcher @ Institut für Medizinische Mikrobiologie, Jena
I was born in Argentina. I studied biology and made my PhD in medical microbiology at the University of Buenos Aires. After that, I got a post doc position in Münster, Germany. I lived in Münster for 7 years. During that time, I met my husband, we married and we got two children. Since 2014, we moved to Jena where I am working at the UKJ in Medical microbiology.
Florencia Campetella

Originally from Argentina, I am a PhD candidate working on insect olfaction and neuroscience at the Max-Planck-Institute for Chemical Ecology in Jena, and staff member of Intudoc, the tutoring program at the FSU Jena.
Jesus Romero
Lehrkraft im Bereich Fremdsprachen an der Volkshochschule des Saale-Orla-Kreises sowie Lehrbeauftragter an der FSU-Jena im Institut für Auslandsgermanistik und interkulturelle Studien.
Im Laufe seiner Jugend entdeckte die Begeisterung für Fremdsprachen. Unter denen durfte Deutsch nicht fehlen und das daraus entstehende Interesse trug dazu bei, Fremdsprachen auf Lehramt in seiner Heimat zu studieren und nach ca. vier Jahren Lehrerfahrung in Kolumbien ein Masterstudium an der Uni Jena abzuschließen.
Nach seinem Masterabschluss zweifelte er keinesfalls daran, aufgrund des steigenden Bedarfs an Lehrkräften in Jena sowie in der Umgebung als Deutschlehrer tätig zu werden. Diese Tätigkeit führt er heute mit dem Gedanke aus, durch die Sprachvermittlung sowie kulterelle Sensibilisierung bei den Integrationsprozessen zahlreicher vor kurzem angekommener Migranten effektiv unterstützen zu können.
